The case against
Achebe himself called twelve stories in twenty years a lean harvest, and he was grading accurately: the early pieces are university exercises, and only the Biafran stories, the title piece and "Civil Peace" among them, carry the weight of the novels. A completist's collection; the genius lives elsewhere.
