This is a book about writing aimed largely at people who teach writing; half of it argues with workshop orthodoxies you have to have sat through to resent. Mura's case that 'craft' smuggles in whiteness is made with real force and occasional repetition, and a reader outside the MFA economy may feel they have wandered into a faculty meeting. The most interesting faculty meeting that department ever held, but still.
